Topicort is a topical adrenocorticoid/anti-inflammatory. It interferes with the natural body mechanisms that produce rash, itching, or inflammation.

Used to treat inflammation and itching caused by many skin conditions.
Use only on skin; keep away from eyes. Never cover affected area unless directed by your doctor. Use sparingly and not for prolonged periods of time. Do not cover affected areas unless directed by your doctor or use for other than prescribed condition.
- Usual adult dose: apply thin layer to affected area 2 times per day.
- Usual child dose: use as little as possible; follow doctor’s dosage instructions carefully.
- Missed dose: apply only as needed, in the smallest amount required.
Topicort Side Effects
Cushing’s syndrome (moonshaped face, emotional disturbances, high blood pressure, weight gain, and in women, baldness or growth of body or facial hair) or diabetes. If you suspect an overdose, immediately seek medical attention.
More common side effects: acne-like pimples, blistering, burning of the skin, dryness, excessive growth of hair, inflammation of hair follicles, irritation, itching, loss of skin pigmentation, prickly heat, secondary infection, skin inflammation around the mouth, rash, redness, stretch marks on the skin, thinning of the skin.
No known less common or rare Topicort side effects.
No Topicort drug interactions reported.
No known food/other substance interactions.
If pregnant or planning to become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. Not known if Topicort appears in breast milk.
No special precautions apply to seniors.
Follow doctor’s instructions carefully for children. If using for genital rash in infants, use caution not to use tight diapers or plastic pants; air must be able to circulate. Long-term use may interfere with a child’s growth and development.
